Qualified domestic electrical work

Careful wiring,
tested and
written up.

Warm Verge is a two-person electrical workshop. We take on faults, switchboard upgrades, lighting and outdoor power — one job at a time, finished tidy and handed over with the paperwork that proves it.

  • One tradesperson, start to finishThe person who quotes your job is the person who does it.
  • Fixed written quotesScope and price agreed in writing before anything is opened up.
  • Certificates on completionEvery circuit we touch is tested and documented.

What we take on

Four kinds of job

If your job sits somewhere between these, describe it in the form and we will tell you plainly whether it is ours to do.

01

Faults & repairs

Tripping circuits, dead sockets, flickering lights and the ones that only misbehave in the rain. We trace the cause rather than swap parts and hope.

  • Circuit tracing & testing
  • Socket & switch replacement
  • Cable repairs and rerouting

02

Switchboards

Older boards replaced with a clearly labelled panel, protective devices sized to the circuits actually behind them, and room left for later work.

  • Board replacement & relabelling
  • Protective device upgrades
  • Circuit separation

03

Lighting

Indoor and outdoor lighting planned around how a room is used — layered, dimmable where it helps, and set at a colour temperature that suits the space.

  • Downlights & pendants
  • Kitchen & task lighting
  • Dimmer and sensor wiring

04

Outdoor & EV

Power taken safely past the wall line: weather-rated outlets, garden and shed supplies, and home vehicle chargers with the load properly accounted for.

  • Home EV charge points
  • Shed, garage & garden circuits
  • Weather-rated outlets

How we work

The three things we never skip

Most of what separates a good electrical job from a cheap one happens after the cover goes back on. These are the parts of our method that stay the same whatever the job size.

  • Test before and after

We record readings on the circuits we are about to touch, then again once the work is done, so any change is ours and accounted for.

  • Leave it tidy

Dust sheets down, cable runs clipped and straight, offcuts taken away. You should not be able to tell we were there except where you wanted a change.

  • Hand over paperwork

A plain-language summary of what was changed, the certificate for the work, and a labelled photo of the board as we left it.

Finish work

Lighting you choose with your eyes

Lighting is the one job people judge before they judge the wiring. We mock up positions with you first, so the result reads the way you pictured it rather than the way a template grid suggests.

Row of warm filament pendant bulbs hanging at staggered heights above a timber bench

Pendants and feature runs

Heights, spacing and drop lengths set on site with the fittings in hand, and switching grouped so one wall plate controls one mood.

Single warm interior light fitting glowing against a plain wall

Rooms, not ceilings

We light the bench, the reading chair and the stair tread first, then fill in the ambient layer — usually with fewer fittings than expected.

From enquiry to certificate

How it works

Three steps, no surprises in the middle. You will know the price before any tool comes out of the van.

You describe the job

Send the form with as much detail as you have. Photographs of the board or the fitting help more than you would think.

We quote in writing

A scope and a fixed price by email. Where a job needs eyes on it first, we say so and arrange a look before quoting.

Work, test, hand over

We book a slot that suits you, do the work in one visit where possible, then send the test results and certificate.

Before you ask

Questions we get weekly

Do you take urgent callouts?

We keep part of each week clear for faults, so a dead circuit or a board that will not reset is usually seen within a day or two. If a situation looks unsafe, switch off at the board and tell us in the form — those enquiries go to the top of the list.

Can you handle rental compliance work?

Yes. We inspect, test and report on rental properties, and we are happy to deal directly with a managing agent once you have introduced us. The report comes back in a form you can hand straight to a tenant or an insurer.

Is a quote free, and how long is it good for?

Quoting from your description costs nothing. Where a job needs an on-site look before we can price it honestly, we will tell you what that visit costs before booking it. Written quotes hold for thirty days.

What happens if the job grows once you open it up?

We stop and talk to you. Older wiring sometimes hides a problem nobody could have quoted for, so the rule is simple: nothing extra gets done, and nothing extra gets charged, until you have agreed to it in writing.

Tell us what is going on

The more you can describe, the tighter the price. If you are not sure what the job is called, say what you can see or hear — that is usually enough for us to recognise it.

  • Replies go out within one working day.
  • Weekday and Saturday morning slots available.
  • Rentals, small offices and workshops welcome.

We use what you send only to prepare your quote. No newsletter, no passing your details on.
